“When I was 13 years old, my beautiful mother and my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California, and I heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life. It gave me the hope one day I could live my life openly as who I am and then maybe even I could even fall in love and one day get married.
I wanna thank my mom, who has always loved me for who I am even when there was pressure not to. But most of all, if Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he’d want me to say to all of the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told that they are less than by their churches, by the government or by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful creatures of value and that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you and that very soon, I promise you, you will have equal rights federally, across this great nation of ours.
Thank you. Thank you. And thank you, God, for giving us Harvey Milk”

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”  Psalm 14:1
I didn’t say that.  The Word of God does.  I don’t think I’d drive a bus or ride one with this on the side of it.
Apparently, it’s part of a campaign by atheists to raise money to “spread the word” that ding dong God is dead.
If I am wrong, and there is no God, then I lose nothing when I die.
If they are wrong, and I am right — I wouldn’t want to be them on judgement day.  It really makes me sad.  I can’t imagine living without hope there is a God Who loves me.  Without that — what is there?

This kind of thing makes me feel the urgency of what we do as pastor’s wives.  People have got to know that God loves them.  He doesn’t just sit in judgement of them — He yearns to be in fellowship with His children.

Cute. I particularly like the reference to Pascal’s Wager.

The “word of god” also says whe should have slaves, kill gay people and stone all unruly children to death. It takes a real fool to give any importance to such asinine and ofensive verses as the one cited above.
If you are wrong and there is no god you just lost time and money, promoted ignorance, and missed living fully the only life there is.
If atheists are wrong then god should be getting his apology ready for when we get there.
It makes me sad to think that a delusion based on myth and superstition is the only thing that supposedly gives meaning to the lives of some. Life has a deeper and a richer meaning when it is rooted in reality.
PDTo the pastor’s wife:The first thing we would need is evidence that such a thing as a god exists. Telling atheists that a god loves them without evidence such a thing exists makes no sense and will only annoy us (or at least annoy me).
